What’s Happening: Christmas Outreach of Isabella County is a non-profit organization that provides essential items for Isabella County residents in need during the Christmas season. Registration for the December event is coming up soon in early November, and Christmas Outreach is looking to spread the word to any Isabella County resident.

Christmas Outreach provides winter gear, linens, children’s books, stockings, and Christmas decorations to families in Isabella County. Additionally, each family will go home with a tote of household goods–one of the organization’s biggest hits.

Important Dates to Know: This year, the event itself will take place on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 at Morey Courts Recreation Center, located at 5175 E. Remus Rd. in Mt. Pleasant. This is the third year the event has been hosted at this location.

To make an appointment, guests must call (989) 773-4204 between Nov. 3-7 or Nov. 10-12 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Christmas Outreach does not accept walk-ins for registration, and registration is mandatory to attend the event in December. This event is only open to residents of Isabella County.

During their appointment time in December, guests will be escorted through the various departments. They can stock up on winter gear such as coats, hats, mittens, boots; household articles including sheets and towels; holiday decorations like Christmas trees and stockings; and more. Christmas Outreach does not give out toys or clothing.

How To Help:  Right now, the organization is currently seeking stocking stuffers for over 750 children ages birth up to 17 years old and needs various items including manicure sets and deodorant for teen girls, highlighters for teens, bath toys for infants and toddlers, and coloring books for young children. They ask that you message them on Facebook if you are interested in making a donation.

Christmas Outreach is supported by volunteers and community donations. A group of community members created the organization in 1980 with the goal of giving back for the holidays, and to this day it remains a community affair.

From high school students to churches, businesses to families, people from all across the county come together to bring this event to life. Furthered by the time volunteered and money donated from individuals and organizations, Christmas Outreach aims to give everyone in Isabella County a holiday season filled with comfort and cheer.
