Partner Partner Content MMDC’s Coming Home event strengthens local workforce connections
The seventh annual Coming Home Middle Michigan event connected over 80 career seekers with more than 20 local employers from across the region, strengthening the local talent pipeline in mid Michigan.
In partnership with Greater Gratiot Development, Inc., Middle Michigan Development Corporation (MMDC) proudly hosted its annual hiring and networking mixer, Coming Home Middle Michigan, on Oct. 24, 2025, at the Courtyard Marriott on Central Michigan University’s campus.
Designed to connect local employers with recent graduates, remote workers, and professionals interested in living and working in the mid Michigan region, the event once again delivered meaningful connections and results. With over 80 career seekers in attendance and more than 100 resumes collected, MMDC and Greater Gratiot Development, Inc. successfully connected participants with over 20 local employers from across Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, and Osceola counties.
“Coming Home Middle Michigan is about highlighting our local talent and showing them that great careers and an incredible quality of life are available right here in their own backyard,” said Kati Mora, President and CEO of MMDC. “Whether you’re a recent graduate, a young professional, or someone looking to return to the area, this event is a chance to make meaningful connections.”
Throughout the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet with local employers and explore open positions, network with professionals and community leaders, and learn about regional resources, cultural amenities, and lifestyle benefits.
Now in its seventh year, Coming Home continues to evolve thanks to the ongoing support of local employers, community partners, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). Those who RSVP’d for the event not only had the chance to connect with employers the day of the event, but through the collaborative website, MichiganCentered.com, individuals can stay connected with area businesses throughout the year.
The event remains a key part of MMDC’s broader mission to attract and retain talent in the region while helping employers connect directly with individuals who want to live, work, and thrive locally.
With continued support from partners like Greater Gratiot Development, Inc., and the MEDC, MMDC remains committed to advancing workforce development and community growth across the region. The momentum behind Coming Home Middle Michigan demonstrates that investing in local talent is investing in the future of Middle Michigan.
