Holiday with Heart delivers $24K in nonprofit community support
Isabella Bank’s first Holiday with Heart initiative directed $24,000 to eight nonprofits across mid Michigan, powered by more than 3,000 community votes.

What’s Happening: Over 3,000 votes from community members helped direct donations worth $24,000 to non-profit organizations across the mid-Michigan region via Isabella Bank’s inaugural Holiday with Heart initiative. The voting took place over two weeks and eight nonprofits were awarded financial support.
What Isabella Bank is Saying: “We’re proud to support local organizations that make a difference for our neighbors,” says Neil McDonnell, president of Isabella Bank. “Holiday with Heart was about coming together to create a meaningful impact—and we’re excited to see how these funds will help our communities continue to grow and thrive.”
Who Won the Grand Gift: The Grand Gift of $10,000 was awarded to Isabella Community Soup Kitchen in Mt. Pleasant. Providing free meals to people in need, the soup kitchen serves seniors, families, veterans, students, and individuals experiencing homelessness. The donation will help provide breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday, as well as process more than 30,000 pounds of food each month—which it shares with other nonprofit partners’ free food programs across four counties.
What Isabella Community Soup Kitchen is Saying: “At a time when more people are struggling, this gift makes a huge impact in the fight against food insecurity in our community,” says Sarah Adkins, executive director of Isabella Community Soup Kitchen.
Who Are the Additional Winners: Child Advocacy of Gratiot County Baby Pantry received the Impact Leader donation of $5,000 for their efforts. Emmaus House of Saginaw and Angels of Action of Mecosta County were each awarded $2,500 from the Holiday of Heart initiative. Four other organizations received $1,000 gifts each, including: Mid-Michigan Community Action; Boys & Girls Clubs of the Great Lakes Bay Region; Midland County Food Assistance Network; and Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity.
What’s Next: Isabella Bank aims to give back to the community each holiday season through Holiday with Heart for years to come.
