Epicenter Mt. Pleasant transitions to local ownership under Courtney Jerome

Issue Media Group and editor Courtney Jerome have announced that ownership of Epicenter Mt. Pleasant (epicentermtpleasant.com) has officially transitioned to Jerome, effective October 1.

A Mt. Pleasant resident for a combined 15 years, Jerome has almost 20 years of professional media experience with a passion for storytelling and showcasing regions in a positive light. She’s written stories for television broadcasts, magazines, and digital publications. In addition, she owns a boutique creative marketing agency that focuses on video, photo, and website storytelling for small businesses and nonprofits across Michigan and the country.

While the ownership is transitioning, Epicenter Mt. Pleasant will continue to be affiliated with Issue Media Group, which will provide publishing software and opportunities for content sharing and other partnerships.

“Since becoming Epicenter’s managing editor in 2022, I’ve seen how much it matters for people to see their neighbors, their work, and their ideas reflected in local press,” said Courtney Jerome, owner and publisher of Epicenter Mt. Pleasant. “Taking ownership is deeply personal to me because this is my community, too. Epicenter has been locally operated, with stories written by local journalists, about our local community. Now, it’s locally owned as well. I’m proud to carry that work forward by celebrating the stories that remind us of all the great reasons we choose to call Mt. Pleasant home.”
